Shipping policy

At Photo World Lab, we aim to get your orders to you quickly, safely, and affordably. Below is our Shipping Policy for all online orders.

1. Free Shipping & Order Threshold

We offer free shipping for orders over R1,000. 
For orders under the threshold, shipping costs vary depending on weight, parcel size, and destination. We will quote you the freight cost once we’ve received your order. 

2. Domestic (Within South Africa) Shipping Delivery Methods:

We normally use courier services for local deliveries (door-to-door) because they are fast, reliable, and cost-effective. 

Delivery options may include Next Day, Express (24–48 hours), or Economy (24–72 hours), depending on destination and urgency. 

Estimated Costs (as guideline):
  • Small parcels within Johannesburg CBD: often free. 
  • For areas outside Johannesburg CBD: approximate cost ranges between R55 – R200, depending on size and parcel details. 
  • Larger parcels (e.g. up to ~60 kg) delivered outside Johannesburg may cost around R200 – R305. 
Special Requests:
If you prefer, we can ship via the Post Office instead of a courier — upon request. 

3. International Shipping

Yes — we can ship internationally (outside South Africa) upon request. 

For international orders, shipping cost depends on parcel weight, size, and shipping method chosen (postal service or courier). We will quote freight cost after you place your order. 

Shipping times vary based on destination and shipping method. Postal options may take longer; courier can be faster but costlier. 

4. Order Processing & Dispatch Time

Once you place an order and payment is confirmed, we prepare your order for dispatch. 

Delivery times depend on destination and shipping method selected (see section 2 above).

If there are any delays (e.g. due to freight method, shipping volume, or distance), we will inform you.

5. Tracking & Customer Responsibilities

For courier shipments, once dispatched you will receive confirmation and a tracking number, so you can track your parcel with the courier.

Please ensure delivery address and recipient contact details are correct at checkout. If no one is available to receive the parcel when courier arrives, some couriers may attempt redelivery — extra charges may apply or package may be returned.

For oversized or heavy parcels, ensure someone of suitable age/strength is available to receive the delivery.

6. Undeliverable / Returned Parcels & Additional Costs

If a parcel is returned to us because it could not be delivered (wrong address, no recipient, refusal, unavailability, etc.), customer will be responsible for reshipping charges and any additional courier costs.

For returned parcels, we will contact you to arrange re-shipment and invoice accordingly.
